Trevor is a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), holder of a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with Distinction, Bachelor of Commerce, Honours Degree in Accounting, CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting and CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting.

Trevor started his career as Management Trainee at Nestle Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd. He later joined mobile telecommunications giant Econet Wireless Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd as Assistant Management Accountant, and later assumed the role of Management Accountant. Trevor immigrated to South Africa, joining IT powerhouse Omni Africa (Pty) Ltd as Group Accountant and advanced to the role of Chief Financial Officer responsible for Group Financial Control, Group Strategy and Planning.

Skills, expertise and experience:

Clement is a Chartered Management Accountant, a holder of the Association of Chartered Management Accountants (CIMA) qualification and Bachelor of Honours Degree in Financial Management.

Clement commenced his professional career as a Management Accountant trainee at Imperial Logistics reporting to the Finance Director specializing in budgeting, forecasting and management of fixed assets. He then moved to Tiger Brands working as a Cost Analyst responsible for variance analysis, inventory valuation and establishment and review of internal controls as well as stock control. Clement currently works at RCL Foods as a Cost Accountant responsible for BOM and process audits, product profitability, and management reporting as well as system maintenance. Clement spends his extra time assisting high school learners with extra classes.

Skills, expertise and experience:

Mercy is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant, with a Hons. Degree in Applied Accounting and a Diploma in Town Planning. She also holds a Post graduate diploma in Accounting Sciences. Mercy is also a Certified Accounting Technician and successfully passed her SAICA Board 1 exam.

She has many years’ work experience in the full accounting function, with at least four years having worked at Senior Management Level. Mercy’s experience has been obtained across a variety of industries and countries. She is passionate about the accounting profession and firmly believes in the key role that accounting plays in the management of organisations.

Skills, expertise and experience:

Mageba kick started his career as a Fund Accountant at Sanlam, where he obtained professional skills in drawing up financial statements of pension/provident funds to the Financial Services Board (FSB). His qualification landed him at Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd in the Group Capital division where he identified and managed risks in the project, ensuring adherence to the control frame work, preparing business intelligence for finance business centres, ensuring project schedule, quality and time being aligned as per project management principles. long-term and short budgets, variance analysis, preparation of quarterly reports and providing guidance on procurement issues.

His Management skills were enhanced through his compilation of accurate long term sustainability budget processes and minimised excessive expenditure. His best expertise is reflected in how he has successfully managed to ensure that costs are allocated on the most reliable basis to ensure accurate decision making.

Skills, expertise and experience:

Edgar is the Accounting & Information Officer of the Field Band Foundation NPC. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators (ACIS), a holder of a Bachelor of Business Studies Honours Degree and has 20 years of accounting experience in the engineering, manufacturing, construction and financial services industries. He has gained substantial experience in financial management of donor funded projects as well as in grants management.

Edgar has been with the FBF for five years and during this time has managed the transition of the FBF from being fully funded by donors to being financially independent and self-sufficient. In this regard he draws up and manages internal budgets, prepares monthly management reports, provides feedback to the Board of Directors, prepares for and assists with the annual audit and complies with all statutory requirements.
Edgar teaches CIMA Operational/Management level and the UNISA Bachelor of Accounting Science Degree.

Skills, expertise and experience:

Louis is a qualified Chartered Accountant and he commenced his career as Senior Accountant at KPMG Johannesburg, auditing for 3 year 3months. He proceeded as a Financial Consultant for two years but is now the Manager of Meodi Chartered Accountants. His passion and dedication towards COCA is illuminated in his lecturing techniques in Corporate Reporting and Taxation.

Amukelani Maluleke

Qualifications: CA (SA), B. Com Accounting, Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting, Advance Certificate: Property Investment, MSc Real Estate (Property Development).

Skills, expertise and experience:

Amukelani is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA-SA), holder of a Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Accounting and an MSc Real Estate student (Coursework completed). His corporate career commenced at MTN SA where he executed his duties as a Trainee Chartered Accountant. Amukelani has worked in the Taxation, Financial Management, Funding and Treasury, Business Risk Management and Internal Auditing divisions within MTN SA and MTN Group. Currently he works as a Management Accountant for MTN Group, whose responsibilities include the management of the financial and non-financial reporting process across all 21 operations to ensure all reporting objectives are met, business planning and strategic analysis for all 21 MTN Group operations.
Amukelani is also a seasoned CIMA lecturer at COCA and his passion for teaching is more channelled towards the CIMA qualification given the low national pass rate in securing this qualification.

Skills, expertise and experience:

Charles is a vibrant Chartered Accountant, with dual membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (ICAZ) and the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA). He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder, a clear testimony of his dedication to financial excellence. With the CFA qualification, he has acquired additional skills for example financial modelling/analysis techniques, portfolio management, investment analysis, financial due diligence and derivatives. He started his career as a trainee accountant with KPMG Zimbabwe in 2001, and rose through the ranks. He passed all his CA exams first time and was a top ten candidate in all the three exam levels in Zimbabwe.

Charles relocated to South Africa in 2005 and has held various management positions as Audit Manager, Senior Audit Manager, Tax Manager, Business Controller, and Financial Controller. Charles is currently a Senior Finance Manager at Wits University with oversight over group financial reporting, working capital management, financial controls, corporate financing transactions, structured finance, financial risk management, and treasury/banking operations. Charles has passion for financial learning and he is a qualified trainer, assessor and strives for excellence.

Skills, expertise and experience:

Nehal is a qualified Chartered Accountant registered with the Professional Body SAICA (South African institute of Chartered Accountants). She completed her degree and Honours in Accounting Sciences, as well as her CTA at the University of Pretoria. She went on to do her articles at Price Waterhouse Coopers and passed both board exams during her training period. Nehal is a friendly, approachable person who has a passion for lecturing and making learning easier for students. Nehal is currently lecturing the CIMA F2 (Advanced Financial Reporting) and ACCA P6 Advanced Tax and P7 Advanced Audit and Assurance.
